Sevillana Dance

PRESHCO offers to their students two hours per week of practical classes. Some students are able to ask their home institution to receive Physical Education or Dance credit for participating in these classes. If the student wants to receive credits, they should communicate this to their home institution and get permission to obtain them. Full-year students have the option to take Flamenco classes in the second semester. It is necessary a course of sevillana or any other experience in dance to take this class.

Spanish Cooking

PRESHCO offers several cooking classes to their students, imparted by an important chef from Cordoba. The students will learn how to elaborate dishes from the popular and traditional spanish cooking, such as: spanish omelette, salmorejo cordobés, paella, and a rich variety of desserts from familiar tradition, such as: manoletes and gachas. After the class, all the students share the food cooked and have lunch together. Genarally, cooking classes take place on friday during the lunch time and you do need to sign up for them in advance.

Ceramics Workshop

You can enroll in a ceramics workshop while you are in Cordoba. It is taught by a craftswoman in her workshop, located in a typical neighbourhood in Cordoba in a beautiful Andalusian patio.

The workshop has a duration of four hours, divided in two sections:

- SECTION 1: the elaboration of one piece using the “churros” technique and the preparation of the tile.

- SECTION 2: the painting of the piece, or pieces, using the “bajo cubierta” technique.

When the pieces are finished, each student has their own ceramics.

Theatre Workshop

Students will observe people in Cordoba whose gestures and forms of expression capture their attention. They will then construct a character by creating a story, movements and language which they will represent in a final performance.

Ganchillo/Crochet Workshop

In this workshop you can learn and/or perfect one of the following techniques:

Pieces made by students

  • Crochet or hook knitting. Technique for knitting work with yarn or wool using a short, specific needle, "crochet needle" made of metal, plastic or wood.

  • Knitting or tricot. This technique consists of interlacing the yarn or wool horizontally with the help of two knitting needles, so that a row of stitches (loops) is assembled on one of the needles, which are chained with the help of the other needle; this step is repeated until a mesh is formed.
