Article 9.2 of the Spanish Constitution from 1978 states that “It corresponds to the public powers to promote the conditions for the freedom of individual equality and of the groups in which it is integrated are real and effective”. This precept is found at the base of the idea of Social and Democratic State of Law, a way of articulation of power that is concerned with guaranteeing collective well-being, the protection of fundamental rights and existence in conditions of equality and dignity for all citizens. In this CLASS we will analyze the political and economic antecedents that have led to the approval of this article and the legislative measures called to implement it in the social reality of Spain and Europe.
La Constitución española de 1978 establece en su Art. 9.2 que "Corresponde a los poderes públicos promover las condiciones para que la libertad y la igualdad del individuo y de los grupos en que se integra sean reales y efectivas". Este precepto se halla a la base de la idea de Estado Social y Democrático de Derecho, una forma de articulación del poder que se preocupa de garantizar el bienestar colectivo, la protección de los derechos fundamentales y la existencia en condiciones de igualdad y dignidad para toda la ciudadanía. han llevado a la aprobación de este artículo y se analizarán las medidas legislativas llamadas a implementarlo en la realidad social de España y Europa
A study of sociocultural variation in Spanish. The focus of the class will be on how age, gender, social class, and region determine how the Spanish language varies in different situations. Students will learn how to manage linguistic resources in response to the dynamics of social interaction. Proficient communication also entails oral skills when transitioning from a first to a second language. Through practical exercises, this part of the course will illustrate ways to observe, rehearse, and implement the phonetical differentiation of the English and Spanish languages.
El enfoque de esta asignatura consiste en estudiar la variación sociocultural en español. Se estudiará los efectos de edad, género, clase social, y región sobre el uso del español en diferentes situaciones. Se aprenderá cómo utilizar recursos lingüísticos para responder a la dinámica de interacciones sociales. Una comunicación efectiva también incluye destrezas orales en la transición de una lengua a otra. A través de ejercicios prácticos, se ilustrará maneras de observar, ensayar e implementar la diferenciación fonética entre el inglés y el español.
Translation of texts from one language to another entails a profound knowledge not only of linguistic elements but also of cultural aspects that determine how language is used. This class will study translation as a communicative and intercultural process looking at the concept of equivalence and proposing methods, strategies, and techniques to achieve a textual product that is not only correct, but also acceptable and natural. The work of a translator implies intercultural competence that allows for a contrast between different mental representations and cultural values. This requires the capacity to perceive events or cultural manifestations without making judgemental comparisons, nor expressing prejudice. Students will examine mental, social, and linguistic attitudes needed to translate when confronting new cultures in order to overcome pre-concepts and to develop a tolerant and knowledgeable intercultural mediation.
La traducción de textos de una lengua a otra requiere conocimientos amplios no solo lingüísticos sino también culturales. En esta asignatura, se estudiará el proceso comunicativo e intercultural de la traducción a través del concepto de la equivalencia y proponiendo métodos, estrategias y técnicas para alcanzar productos textuales correctos, aceptables y naturales. El proceso de la traducción implica una competencia intercultural que permite establecer un contraste entre diferentes representaciones mentales y valores culturales. Supone por parte del traductor o la traductora, percibir eventos o ejemplos culturales sin entrar en comparaciones valorativas ni expresar prejuicios. Se estudiarán las actitudes mentales, sociales y lingüísticas necesarias al enfrentarse con culturas diferentes a las propias para poder superar preconceptos y desarrollar una mediación intercultural tolerante y culta.
Specialists in the areas of Semitic and Medieval Studies will offer different perspectives on the eras in which will offer different perspectives on the times when Islam, Judaism and Christianity occupied shared spaces in Spain. To this end, a historical-cultural a cultural-historical tour on the historical formation of the three great monotheistic religions. Especialistas de las áreas de Estudios Semíticos y Medievales ofrecerán diferentes perspectivas sobre las épocas en las que el Islam, el judaísmo y el cristianismo ocuparon espacios compartidos en España. Para ello, se ofrece un recorrido histórico-cultural sobre la formación histórica de las tres grandes religiones monoteístas (judaísmo, cristianismo e islam): precedentes, orígenes, desarrollo y su testimonio en al-Andalus a través de sus manifestaciones religiosas, culturales y socio-históricas.
In this class, we intend to bring students closer to the Andalusian natural heritage with the aim of making known the natural diversity of this environment and the main uses and resources it offers. To do this we will take a tour of the natural environment of Andalusia that will take us from its ecosystems to its products and social impact, through the medicinal uses of plants, ethnobotany, industrial exploitation or food uses (mycology, wild plants, cosmetics, medicinal plants, etc.), to finish with a specific module on the culture of wine and oil. To show the richness and diversity of the Andalusian natural landscape we will divide the subject into four blocks: Andalusian natural environment, food resources, traditional and industrial use of plant resources and food (wine and oil culture).
Con esta asignatura pretendemos acercar a las alumnas al patrimonio natural andaluz con el objetivo de dar a conocer la diversidad natural de este entorno y los principales usos y recursos que este ofrece. Para ello haremos un recorrido por el medio natural de Andalucía que nos llevará desde sus ecosistemas hasta sus productos e impacto social, pasando por los usos medicinales de las plantas, etnobotánica, explotación industrial o usos alimentarios (micología, plantas silvestres, cosmética, plantas medicinales, etc.), para terminar con un módulo específico sobre la cultura del vino y del aceite. Para mostrar la riqueza y diversidad del paisaje natural andaluz dividiremos la asignatura en cuatro bloques: medio natural de Andalucía, recursos alimentarios, uso tradicional e industrial de los recursos vegetales y alimentación (cultura del vino y del aceite).
